A Class of Symmetric Trigonometrically-Fitted Hybrid Method for Second-Order Initial Value Problems
Abstract
This paper develops a new class of symmetric hybrid linear multistep method for solving special second-order initial value problems in ordinary differential equations. The proposed method has been derived using trigonometrically fitted basis function, achieving order six accuracy and minimal local truncation errors. The boundary locus presented illustrates the stability region of the method. Numerical experiments on test problems confirms the applicability of the proposed method.
